Weight management club

Weight gain and obesity in pets is unfortunately on the increase. If the level of energy in the food eaten is greater than the level of energy used in daily life, the excess energy is laid down as body fat.

If you are concerned that your pet is over weight (or even under-weight) our nurses can help.

Dental clinics

Periodontal disease is the most common clinical condition occurring in adult dogs and cats ,and is entirely preventable.

This disease, left unchecked. can lead to infections, gastric disease or even heart/liver problems.

Signs to look out for:_

  • Bad smelling breath
  • Reluctant to eat
  • Pawing at face
  • Blood in mouth or on toys/food
  • Salivation

We can give you advice on oral care and how to keep your pets mouth clean and healthy. This would include brushing teeth and maybe a diet change.

If your pet is showing signs of dental disease you may need to discuss this with one of our vets.

Please feel free to contact the practice for any help or advice.

Nail clip

Trimming your pets claws should be part of your regular grooming routine.

If you let the nails grow too long they can split, which is not only painful, but can also lead to infections, they can also curl round and grow into your pets pad.

It is difficult to know how much to trim off and how often it should be done. There is also the worry that you might clip the sensitive 'quick' area, which can also be painful and this can lead your pet to become anxious.

We can help you by either trimming the nails for you at a cost of £9.84 or even show you how you can do it yourself.

Please feel free to contact the practice for any help or advice
